DANIEL J. DEMAY

Mr. DeMay is a member of Pallo, Marks, Hernandez, Gechijian & DeMay, P.A. He received his Bachelor of Applied Arts degree with honors in journalism from Central Michigan University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University College of Law with honors. While in law school, Mr. DeMay was a member of the first-place mock trial team, a staff writer for the Stetson Law Review and a Charles A. Dana merit scholarship recipient.

Mr. DeMay has practiced for more than 20 years in the field of workers’ compensation law. He has represented private employers, publicly-traded corporations, counties, municipalities, sheriff’s departments, school boards, professional employer organizations, servicing agents and workers’ compensation insurance carriers in a wide variety of workers’ compensation matters, including complex issues, coverage disputes, fraudulent claims, equitable distribution and workers’ compensation appeals.

He has also lectured before private and municipal employers, employee leasing companies, construction industry contractors and subcontractors, servicing agents and workers’ compensation insurance carriers on various topics including occupational disease and exposure issues, drug-free workplace procedures, employee leasing matters, employer safety programs and other timely subjects in workers’ compensation law.

Mr. DeMay is admitted to practice law before all local and state courts in Florida. He is Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education. He is a member of the Sarasota-Bradenton Claims Association, the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Workers’ Compensation Section of The Florida Bar and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
