Jessica M. Blackman
Ms. Blackman received her Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Psychology
from the University of Southern Maine in 2004. She subsequently received
her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville,
Florida in 2007 with a Certificate in Sports Law. While in law school,
she was an active member of the student government, President of Phi Alpha
Delta legal fraternity, and an Executive Board member of the Sports Law
Association. After graduating from law school, Ms. Blackman represented
injured workers, but now focuses exclusively on defending employers, insurance
carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation matters.
Ms. Blackman is currently a member of the Florida Bar, Young Lawyers and
the Workers' Compensation Sections, as well as the Palm Beach County
Bar Association and the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Friends of 440 Scholarship
Fund. She is also the Vice-President of the Palm Beach County Human Rights
Counsel working closely with attorneys, judges, and political leaders
at both the state and local levels, to promote equality through education,
advocacy, direct action, impact litigation, and community outreach. She
enjoys spending time with her partner Katie and their two dogs, Phoebe
and Lucy, as well as cooking, traveling, and watching Red Sox baseball.
