Attorney Daniel J. DeMay serves as a partner here at Pallo, Marks, Hernandez,
Gechijian & DeMay, P.A. Having graduated from Central Michigan University
with his Bachelor of Applied Arts degree in journalism (with Honors),
he then went on to graduate from Stetson University College of Law and
receive his Juris Doctor degree (also with Honors). During his time at
law school, he served as staff writer for the Stetson Law Review, was
a recipient of the Charles A. Dana merit scholarship, and played an important
role on the first-place mock trial team.
With more than 20 years in workers’ compensation law, Mr. DeMay has
represented a wide range of individuals and entities. He has assisted
publicly traded corporations, private employers, counties, sheriff's
departments, municipalities, school boards, servicing agents, professional
employer organizations, and workers' compensation insurance carriers.
He focuses his practice on complex issues such as coverage disputes, equitable
distribution, fraudulent claims, and workers' compensation appeals.
When he has the chance, Mr. DeMay will spread his knowledge, lecturing
to numerous organizations regarding various workers’ compensation
topics. His lectures are usually based on occupational diseases, chemical
exposure, employee leasing, drug-free workplaces, and safety programs.
Having shown the ability to practice at a high level in all local and state
courts throughout Florida, Mr. DeMay has earned the recognition of being
Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation by the Florida Bar of Legal
Specialization and Education. He has also received an AV Preeminent®
rating by Martindale-Hubbell®. His memberships include the Sarasota
County Bar Association, Sarasota-Bradenton Claims Association, the Phi
Delta Phi legal fraternity, and the Workers’ Compensation Section
of the Florida Bar.
